But, soft! what light through yonder window breaks?

Lest we be misconstrued as frumpish centenarians, let me remind you... gardens are sexy. From antiquity to now, many a love affair has blossomed in the heady air of a bountiful arbor. Case in point:

The Garden of Eden

Poor Eve for helping herself to the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. But if not for her, there wouldn't be linen, Sancerre, and mother's day bouquets. What good is that?

Capulet's Orchard

The infamous deflowering of Juliet began in Capulet's lusty orchard.

Lolita's backyard
Pervy old Humbert Humbert gets caught in the web of the infamous nymphette, in Vladimir Nobokov's, Lolita. This picture from the Stanely Kubrick movie in 1962.

Rosings Park
My personal favorite... At Rosings Park of Lady Catherine de Bourgh, Darcy first proposes to Elizabeth and is flatly refused.

Central Park
And my ultimate favorite...We celebrated our engagement in one of the world's most beautiful gardens.
